Welcome to FEM Dance! By subscribing, purchasing, enrolling, or attending any of our services, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully.

1. General Terms

This agreement is between FEM Dance New Zealand, trading as FEM Dance (“FEM”), and anyone who subscribes to, purchases, enrols in, or attends any of FEM’s services. By participating in our services, you agree to abide by these Terms & Conditions and any updates we may make in the future.

2. Account Information

You are responsible for keeping your contact details up-to-date with FEM. Please regularly check your email (including spam/junk folders), our website, and social media for important updates.

3. Payments

All FEM services must be paid in advance. This includes, but is not limited to, group classes, private classes, bootcamps, workshops, performance courses, and extra rehearsals.

3.1 Memberships

  • Membership fees are charged weekly in advance from your nominated bank account or credit card.

  • You are responsible for ensuring sufficient funds and notifying us of any changes to your account or card at least 48 hours before the next payment.

  • FEM may suspend your access if payments fail. Outstanding amounts remain payable.

  • Administration fees may apply for failed direct debits.

3.2 Casual Passes & Packs

  • 5-Class Pack: Access 5 classes at your suitable level within 2 months of purchase.

  • 10-Class Pack: Access 10 classes at your suitable level within 4 months of purchase.

  • These passes cannot be paused, suspended, or refunded.

4. Pausing Your Membership

  • Memberships can be paused for a minimum of 3 weeks, up to twice per calendar year.

  • Requests must be submitted via email to femdancenz@gmail.com, allowing at least 3 business days to process.

  • An administration fee of $20 may apply.

5. Ending Your Membership

  • Cancel Anytime Memberships: Can be cancelled at any time with 1 week’s notice via email.

  • Minimum Term Memberships: If cancelling before the end of the minimum term, all outstanding fees for the remainder of the term must be paid. An administration fee of $20 may apply.

  • Exceptions may be considered for sickness, incapacity, or circumstances beyond your control—FEM will try to reach a fair resolution.

6. Changing Your Membership Plan

  • You may upgrade your membership at any time by emailing femdancenz@gmail.com.

  • You may downgrade your membership once your minimum term is complete (or if on a cancel-anytime plan). Administration fees of $20 may apply.

7. Courses & Pre-Booked Classes

  • Courses run on specific dates and must be paid in advance.

  • You may cancel a pre-booked course, class, or private lesson up to 24 hours before it starts, and receive credit or a refund.

  • Cancelling less than 24 hours before the class will result in the loss of pre-paid credit/payment.

  • FEM does not offer refunds for unused class credits or unattended courses.

8. Health & Safety

  • Dancing is a fun form of exercise, but there are risks of injury or health issues.

  • You are responsible for seeking medical advice before starting or during your participation.

  • Please stay home if you feel unwell.

  • Health restrictions (e.g., masks, vaccination, reduced class sizes) may apply.

9. Fees & Terms Changes

  • Fees are displayed on our website; website fees take precedence.

  • FEM may increase fees or update these Terms & Conditions.

  • Students may cancel within 14 days of being notified of changes if they do not accept the new fees or terms.

10. Studio Rules & Conduct

  • Respect our facilities and take care of personal belongings; FEM is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

  • FEM may refuse entry or request removal for:

    • Threatening, harassing, or unsafe behaviour

    • Damage to property

    • Non-compliance with instructors or staff

    • Attending while intoxicated or using illegal substances

    • Attempting to instruct other students without approval

    • Non-payment for services

  • All participants must be 18 or older or accompanied by a parent/adult with prior approval. FEM may request ID.

11. Photography & Media

  • FEM may film or photograph classes, workshops, events, and parties for promotional purposes.

  • By participating, you consent to the use of your image.

  • If you do not want your image used, email femdancenz@gmail.com and we will make reasonable efforts to remove it from promotional materials.

12. Consumer Rights & Governing Law

  • Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to limit or reduce your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any other applicable New Zealand consumer protection laws.
